Once the requirements have been met, an individual may then apply for benefits on his or her own or designate someone else to fill out the application, such as a family member or an attorney. The person filing on behalf of the Medicaid applicant will need access to financial records and must be familiar with the applicant’s situation as this will be necessary to filing a successful claim.
